Yesterday was Mark Monet's 21st birthday. As he is in Denver for an internship, living with his sister, and having only been here a week doesn't have any friends around here yet; we had the priveledge of celebrating with him as friends of Jen and John's. John got us the hook up due to his current contracting client. White stretch limo picked us up at home, drove us downtown, and dropped us off at the Rio Grande. Food there is good and cheap. The drinks are STRONG (they only allow a three drink limit). After dinner the limo took us a few blocks over and dropped us off at "Spill" where it had been arranged for us to be in VIP seating with free bottle service. We had a GREAT time with everyone. Here are a few momentos.

2 year old negotiation
Auburn: Mommy, watch Dinosaurs.
note, I don't like Ice Age very much so I try for another movie acceptable to both of us.
Me: How about Cars?
Auburn: How bout Dinosaurs?
Me: How about Monsters?
Auburn: How booooout...Dinosaurs?
Me: How about Princess Frog?
Auburn: How boooout...(thinking)...Dinosaurs?
Hmmmm. Point to the 2 year old for stubborness. I wonder if God gives in to us sometimes just for our persistance.

Crab Boil for Marc's Graduation
MMMMMM! Thank you Uncle Troy for the fabulous crab boil recipe! Crab and shrimp and smoked sausage, corn and potatoes and onions. Sooo good! The Bohall family helped Kati move into her new apartment and then came back to our house for dinner. In honor of Marc's graduation from NJC, Lance and Patti put up the bucks for a good southern crab boil. We had so much food and everyone went away Sat-Is-Fied. Auburn of course had so many admireres in her Aunties and Grandmamommy and Grandpa.

3rd Best of Show
Art Show update: I got 3rd Best of Show in the Amateur division of the Wray Art Show and a couple of other ribbons (second and honorable mention). I entered one picture in the General (not judged) portion of the show and the Judge told my mother-in-law, Patti, she would have given it higher best of show if it had been in the judged category. Dang it! Auburn got a 3rd place ribbon for her crayon scribbles. A pity ribbon to be sure but her collection of awards has started at 2 yrs old. Proud mommy!
This is the picture that I won 3rd with.
