I want Lunch not Dinner

So I just picked Auburn up from the babysitter and I told her we needed to go home and have dinner. She told me that she didn't want to have dinner she wanted to have lunch! I tried to explain that dinner isn't about WHAT we eat but WHEN we eat. She was not getting it and started crying because she didn't want dinner she wanted lunch.

I got home and we went down to the office and Cody tried to explain first by asking what she wanted to eat. "Peanut Butter and Honey". Ok, well you can eat PeanutButter and Honey in the middle of the day and it is called lunch. You could also have PB & H at night and it is called dinner. She looked at him like she was trying to get it. Then I piped in and said you could have PB & H in the morning and it would be breakfast. "No! Cheerios and cereal is for breakfast. Cody said well traditionally she is right but sometimes you can even have cold pizza for breakfast. She said NO that's dinner! Cody laughed and said your grandpa would agree with you. She said THATS NOT FUNNY! Which made Cody laugh even harder. Then she said well maybe it would be ok to have Peanut Butter and Honey for Dinner even though it was lunch.

Anyone else as confused now as the 4 year old?

Auburnism today

Cody left the house for a run and Auburn was QUITE upset that she couldn't go with him. Between wails she said, "Mommy, I don't get to go with daddy I not going to have my next birthdaaaaaaay!"

This stems from a statement by Cody this morning...He asked her to pick up her blanket. She gave him a wounded look. Cody said, "Don't look at me like that. It's not like I took away your birthday."

Ummmm, don't give her ideas. ;)

Auburnisms

"Daddy, I had two cookies!" Counting on her fingers, "I had one more, then two more!"

After walking across a damp sandy parking lot to get in the car..."Dad, just hold on. I need to knock the crumbs off my boots."

"Mommy, I want to put up some declarations." (We put up the christmas tree yesterday. We are still working on "declarating" it.)

A Very Merry Unbirthday (4 year celebration)

Auburn requested a Tinkerbell Tea Party for her unbirthday party this year. All of her friends were invited to come dressed as their favorite tinkerbell character. Aunt Kati facepainted every-single-kid and did a fabulous job. Kids in attendance were from left to right...

The Allbritten Twins Together for the First Time

Cute Story and He's BIG

The caregiver's kid was sick today and I HAD to work. We were unable to find a replacement sitter so Cody and I are tag teaming the kids while we work. Cody had a number of site visits to make today so Auburn is going with him in her cowGIRL boots. Please don't mistake them for cowBOY boots. Anyway, Cody had a pair of earplugs in the back seat from a site visit to a factory. Auburn wanted to know what they were for and Cody told her that he went to a factory and they gave him the earplugs so that his ears wouldn't hurt when it was loud. She said, "A factory like Emory Elizabeth?!" Which is a character in a christmas movie that she has and they have to go to the Uck Factory to defeat the bad guy. Cody said, "yeah, like that but it is a good factory. They don't make uckky stuff there." "Ok!" Well, at least she is learning something from all of her movie watching!

AND EASTON...I tried to put him in a 0-3 month jumper this morning and it was so short it looked like I was forcing him into squats. SO note that my 9 week old (tomorrow) is now in 3-6 month clothes!

Silvermist Down, Silvermist Down!

Cody just walked in the door with a crying Silvermist, nose bloodied and thumb scrapped. Thirty minutes into the trick-or-treating Auburn tripped and banged her nose on the sidewalk. She couldn't catch herself what with the princess septer and the candy filled pumpkin and all. But "it's ok, it was just an accident!" (read with sobs between words) So sad! She is now on the couch in her princess jammies snuggled up to Cody and watching the Simpsons. "the show with the yellow guy and the two kids"

Carving Pumpkins

I had nothing to do with this process. Cody and Auburn cleaned them out and Cody, after looking up "scary pumpkin faces" on his phone, carved these...all I did was clean the kitchen and torture Cody with my musical selections. I think a little old school Wayne Newton is ok on occasion. TeHe!

The Costumes!

We went to Northglenn High School's Halloween Carnival last night with the neighbor girl Adrianna and her mom Nina and sister Kairi pronounced Kire. Auburn is Silvermist (Tinkerbell's Fairy Friend) and Easton was a tiger. Note to me...don't go to this event again. Line was LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG and while it was a good event I don't need to wait an hour in line for it with a 3 year old and a baby.

I got to see the Allbritten twins today!

I was honored that Cody and I were invited to come see the Allbritten twins today at University Hospital here in Denver. They are SO TEENSY! So cute though and as Cody said they just melted the heart. Jerad got to hold his son Asher for the first time while we were there so I got a coupld of good shots of that. They let me touch him too for a minute and he felt just like a baby! :)

My New Ride

I got a new vehicle! Cody picked up our new ride in LA on Saturday at 12:30pm and promptly got on the road and pulled into the driveway here in Denver at 4am on Sunday. An amazing deal or we would have gotten the twin that was here in Denver. Saved $4,000, dealer's fees and 40,000 miles less by purchasing from the wholesaler in LA. I don't have a picture right this second but will attach one soon.

This is my new everyday driver. :) Mandy

Asher and Vaughn Allbritten are Born!

Kris and Asher

Asher Allbritten (Cody thinks he looks like Jerad)

Born on October 17, 2011 Vaughn came first at 4:10pm and Asher second at 4:11pm. These boys are going to be my son's new friends!

Update from Kristie on October 19, 2011
There are no words to describe how blessed Jerad and I are by our sons. They are truly little warriors and are fighting to meet you all!

Asher is still on the ventilator so please keep praying that God would breathe HIS breath of life into our son and continue to grow him into the little man he was created to be. He is stable and we are so thankful for that but we would really like to move him off of the ventilator and onto the c-pap (next step to breathing on his own). Asher was born at 2 lbs 5 oz and was weighed last evening with my Dad and Jerad and he has put on an ounce.

Vaughn is doing great and we give God all the glory for his life. He was born 1 lb 4 oz and is breathing on his own with the help of some oxygen in his nose (like you would get for an adult who is having surgery)! I was able to hold my son Vaughn today for the first time!!!! I am so filled with joy and hope!

So Much

Auburn likes to use the phrase "so much" when really needing to use the word "very". Examples...Mom, I'm so much tired. We have to be so much quiet! That is so much high! It is so much hot in here. Etc. :)

Translation

Text message from Cody in Wray to me in Denver...Auburn just told mom she has to wear socks or else she'll get a "blunder".

Translation: Blister

Explanation: As she was putting on her cowboy boots to leave with Cody I told her that she needed to to put on some socks so that she didn't get another blister. Apparently she listened. :)

Big Sis and Little Bro

Auburn overall has been a pretty good helper and lover of her little brother. She doesn't smother him with hugs and kisses BUT she does proudly show off her little brother and every item related to her little brother when a new person comes over to visit..."This is my brother's bed!" "This is my brother's diapers!" "This is my brother's room!" etc, etc.

Two Week Dr. Follow Up Appointment

Easton Hayes had his two week appointment today. He is happy, healthy and here are the stats...

Height 1' 10" - 91%
Weight 8lbs 12.7oz - 52%
Head Circumference 14.02" - 22%

You Can Have Some Candy Then

Cody took Auburn out to dinner a couple of days ago, just the two of them. Another family was there, finishing their dinner and the father gave the daughter a quarter and she came back with some candy from the candy machine. Auburn said that she wanted some candy. Cody told her that the little girl had finished her dinner and so she got some candy, if Auburn wanted some candy she needed to finish her dinner. A little while later Cody had finished his food and asked Auburn if he could have some of her fries. Auburn's response was no, this is her food and he needed to eat his. Cody said he was all done with his food. Auburn said, good then you can have some candy then.

Well alrighty!

Projectile Poop

Projectile Poop...I was just saying to Cody that if Easton didn't poop this evening I'm supposed to call to get the home visit nurse out to double check things. Right about then as Cody was putting him into his carseat, a juicy sound came out of our boy. Perfect timing right?! Cody went over to change him and as he had the diaper off and was wiping, Easton decided he wasn't done. It was like projectile vomiting but from the other end. It splattered against the wall 3 feet away. Cody dodged like he was playing dodgeball, a full arm and body jerk to the side. I laughed so hard I cried from the pain on my stiches. Thank you to Sherelle Thompson for cleaning up the wall and carpet!! She came at just the right/wrong time. :)

My current reason for existance

Ah, the gamat of emotions that begins just after becoming mom (again). Right now I'm remembering that there is at this stage one reason and one only that I exist to this child...food. I've become nothing more than the output of my breasts. Of course I also provide warmth in whatever form and a clean bottom as well but really Easton is most focused on the milk. I'm not complaining, just making an observation. It kind of gives you perspective on how God feels when we get in certain patterns for seasons. Gimme, gimme, waahhh, cry, sleep, gimee, gimme...

Baby Easton Is Born!

With much ado Baby Easton Hayes Bohall is born this day September 2, 2011 at 6:03am at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, CO. 8lbs 10oz and 22.5 inches long. Story of his birth below.

My water broke at 12:15 (middle of the night) in a gush worthy of a movie. Aunt Kati Bohall booked it up to the house from downtown Denver chanting "this isn't a drill, this isn't a drill" in order to stay with little Miss Auburn. I packed my bag while waiting for her, yes Cody had already packed his when I mentioned earlier in the week that we needed to do that. Off we went calling moms and friends who would watch Auburn on the way. Got to Good Samaritan Medical Center at about 1:30am and checked into the Labor Delivery unit on the 3rd floor. The doctor who did all of Auburn's prenatal care was on duty and became my attending doctor. I was 3 cm dialated and not feeling contractions yet. That very quickly changed and the contractions began. Only ever felt them in my pelvis area which was much different than I expected to feel. Took some pain meds somewhere around 4:30am. Thirty minutes later the medical team comes rushing in because Easton's heart rate had spiked significantly with the last two contractions that were most intense. Dr. Calderwood nicely and gently told us that while she supported our decision to try to have Easton naturally, I hadn't progressed past 3 cm and he was showing distress. He wasn't going to make it through the entire labor process and so she wanted to do the c-section before we got into an emergency situation. Cody and I agreed and they preped me and gave Cody scrubs and got us to the operating room. May I just say right now that getting a spinal block while in the middle of a contraction is not a good time. Anyway once they got me cut open Dr. Calderwood invited Cody to come take a look at the "window" that had opened up in my uterus. Basically the reason that Easton was in stress was because the muscle had separated and my uterus had opened along the scar line from Auburn's c-section. If we had waited much longer there definatly would have been uteran rupture and a bad emergency situation. As it was I ended up with a textbook c-section and a recovery that seems to be going perfectly. Easton is healthy, nurses well, and is SO handsome. He looks just like Auburn did as a newborn with the addition of a healthy head of dark hair and a complextion that would make me think he came from some other woman if Cody hadn't watched him be pulled from my stomach. Thank you dear Lord for doctors with wisdom and skill!

She doesn't like doughnuts

Who doesn't like doughnuts?! Or cake for that matter? Auburn. Offer her a doughnut and her answer is "No thanks. I'm fine." A cupcake she'll take and but leave the cake and lick off all the frosting. Who's kid is this?! Can't be mine!

For the record, my favorite food is bread and my favorite dessert is cake with no frosting.

We've named him Easton

We have named our yet to be born little baby boy. He will be known as EASTON HAYES BOHALL. Why? Because we can. We liked the idea of a last name for a first name so our chalk board wall had about 15 last names that we liked well enough to use. Examples of those not chosen,

Jackson
Harrison
Wilkes
Damon
Cord
Dixon
Gage (didn't even make it to the board but I liked it)
Mason

So what do his names mean out of curiosity? Let me go look...

EASTON = one who came from Easton (the eastern homestead, enclosure or settlement), in England

HAYES = dweller at or near a hedge or hedged enclosure; the keeper of the hedges or fences

Nothing sexy or fantastic in the meanings. Just liked the names!

Sent them off Camping

Tonight is mine! I just sent Cody and Auburn out the door to go "camping" or as close to it as we city folks want to get with a 3 year old. I packed up some food and essentials, Cody got the topper put on the pick up and packed up the gear and they were off! They are headed up to Winter Park area to go for a little hike, build a fire, cook dinner and sleep in the back of the pick up truck. Auburn is super excited and I think Cody is ready for some one-on-one time with his little girl. I sent the camera...if it comes back with pictures I'll post them. :)

HeavenFest 2011

HeavenFest 2011 took place yesterday at The Ranch in Loveland, CO. Cody was an Executive Director again this year and put in SO MUCH work and time to pull this event off. He oversaw all of the parking, camping, grounds preperation, and maintenance with directors in place under him to attend to the details. Initial estimates of attendees was 30,000 which was about 4,000 more than last year. For an industry that continues to see decline HF is blessed to grow each year. I heard from Tara Powers, Tredessa Rhoades, and several others that this year's event ran so much smoother and easier than last year's. We're all getting better at this!
Some pictures of Cody and the event are below. I just attended as a crowd member this year since this little boy is due in 33 days. :) I ran into a bunch of friends and to hang out with while Cody worked but still got to eat both lunch and dinner with my man in the Artist Hospitality tent. Those are the perks of being a board member's wife.
