Easton is eating solid foods!

At almost seven months Easton is finally eating solid foods! A month ago he would take a small taste and make and awful face and then lock his lips to keep me from giving him more. Now he is eating about half a container of food at a time. The more bland things he eats more easily. We started with squash and have moved on to carrots, and sweet potatoes. Pears are good. Applesauce is iffy still. When he is done instead of locking his lips he just waits until the spoon is right in front of his mouth and then blows a raspberry which makes whatever he is eating splatter everywhere. Fun! We are getting there though.

Oh, he rolled over for the first time this week too although there has been no repeat performance. Yesterday while Auburn was playing with him he fell forward from a sitting position onto his tummy and was trying to scoot to be closer to her. Laughing like a loon the whole way. He made it a couple of inches. Progress, although I'm not sure that I'm ready for him to be mobile yet!

Auburn is bored

I'm doing laundry and Auburn is sitting at the kitchen table coloring on her "project" shirt. Here is how the conversation is going.

Mom, can you call Lainey and have her come over?
Honey, Aunt Lainey is working today.
Oh, well how about Aunt Kati?
She's working today too babe.
How about Andy?
Andy has a job too.
Grandma and Grandpa?
They live a long way away.
Yeah, this project takes a lot of work! I'm gonna go play on my hippity hop.

Sleeping in the Shower

Auburn asked tonight to have the candles lit while she was in the shower. (Something that she has seen mommy do.) I left her in there to hang out a bit as she likes to do and I fed Easton and put him down to sleep. Went back into the bathroom and Auburn was sitting up with her back propped up on the back of the tub and was rubbing her eyes. I asked her how she was doing and she said I'm a little tired. I looked at her more closely and asked if she had fallen asleep in the shower. She said, maybe just a little bit.

I LOVE her! She is my little girl for sure. My happy place is in the tub. :)
