Berry Patch Farms Slideshow

Berry Patch Farms

We made our first visit today to Berry Patch Farms off of Hwy 85 and 136th Ave. VERY fun. Cherries and currents were in season and we decided to go pick cherries off the tree. We picked about 6lbs of cherries between Sherelle and I. Of course the kids poured more on the ground than they put in the bucket but we had fun! Raspberries are supposed to be ready next week and strawberries in August. It was a very cute place, free to get in and reasonable on the cost of the fruit. Tons of other produce too. There was a pig named Bacon and lots of chickens. I'll be going back!

Flowerbeans

I'm getting a kick out of my little girl this weekend. Just a few minutes ago she told me, after not taking a nap by the way, that she wanted a cookie. I took her over to the cabinet to see what Grandma had and she saw the jar of preshelled sunflower seeds.

"Flowerbeans!"
"You want sunflower seeds?"
"Yeah, flowerbeans!"

So she got sunflower seeds. :)

July 4 Fireworks in Wray

It went better than expected and it didn't even rain. At 2 1/2 Auburn did just fine. Started out the night not really sure about loud noises. "Coming to get me?!" We did some of the poppers, the ones that flash but don't make noise, and some snakes. Cody did a few single black cats which was a little scary but still ok. Then he strung about 10 black cats together and didn't warn Auburn that it was going to be really loud. Crying began and we had to go in the house to watch for a bit. Eased her back outside. Lit a few smoke bombs, some more poppers. Had her count to 3 and then we threw them. Moved down to the culdesac where she sat on Grandma Patti's lap and watched the "colors" through her fingers. She warmed up a bit when she got the one that had a parachute in it. By the 3rd one with a parachute she was asking "Do it again?!" So when it came time for the city firework show, which we watched from Lance and Patti's driveway, she was asking "Did you see it? Did you see the colors?!" "Did you see those ones?!" Toward the end she was even bored. So a successful indocternation into the world of fireworks on the 4th of July!

Family Reunion at Lake Mac

We had a good time at Eagle Canyon Hideaway for the Bohall Family Reunion. The kids played in the pool. The parents ate and sat in the sun. It was good to see family and just chat with folks you don't get to see on a regular basis. Love you all!

Potty Training

We got serious about potty training this week. Auburn and I made a chart together that says I WENT POTTY! There are empty boxes, boxes with Prize! written in it and three boxes with a Target sticker in them. She gets to put a sticker on the chart each time she goes potty. She gets a pair of panties or a bottle of bubbles on the Prize boxes and when she gets to the Target stickers I'm going to take her to the store to buy a small toy. SO...this is working a bit so far. We started Saturday and she has gone six times. This is six more than before though, so progress! She is still quite happy with her diaper unfortunatly but I'm assured that we'll get there eventually. :)
